The dollar rose sharply, the euro fell: the NBU set a new exchange rate for March 3

The National Bank of Ukraine has announced the official exchange rate for Tuesday, March 3. The hryvnia weakened against the dollar, but strengthened against the euro and the Polish zloty, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Dollar exchange rate on March 3
The official dollar exchange rate is set at 43.23 UAH/USD.
For comparison, on March 2, the rate was 43.10 UAH/USD. Thus, the US currency rose in price by 13 kopecks.
On the interbank market, as of 16:00, the hryvnia-dollar exchange rate stood at 43.32/43.35 UAH/USD.
Euro exchange rate on March 3
The single European currency showed a sharp decline. The official exchange rate is 50.60 UAH/EUR, while the day before it was 50.87 UAH/EUR.
The euro fell by 27 kopecks.
On the interbank market, the euro was quoted at 50.71/50.73 UAH/EUR.
How much is the Polish zloty worth
The Polish zloty also fell to 11.94 UAH, compared to 12.04 UAH the day before.
Thus, the zloty fell by 10 kopecks.
Why exchange rates change
Fluctuations in the currency market are related to:
- the situation on international financial markets;
- changes in demand for foreign currency;
- external economic factors;
- the NBU’s decisions on currency policy.
Despite the current changes, experts note that the hryvnia remains relatively stable under martial law.
