Two hundred hackers searched for technological solutions to destroy enemy rear

The Brave1 Defense Technology Cluster held the Happy New Fear hackathon to find the best technological solutions for destroying the enemy’s rear, as well as “smart” mining of the enemy’s likely approach routes. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The hackathon was attended by more than 200 innovators, as well as representatives of government agencies, the Security and Defense Forces, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, manufacturing companies and other participants in the defense innovation ecosystem.
Panel discussions were held with representatives of the Security and Defense Forces responsible for strategic intelligence and defeat, and manufacturers of solutions for such operations.

For example, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine described the key technological challenges currently facing the military, which conducts reconnaissance and defeat operations deep behind enemy lines. They expressed their readiness to work together to develop answers to these challenges to make operations even more effective.
The search for solutions took place in a non-standard Idea Generation Session format, where hackathon participants worked in “rooms” created in the areas of the hackathon, formed teams on their own and together generated creative ideas and developed innovative solutions. The teams were assisted by professional mentors, including military officers and defense technology experts, in creating solutions.
What is BRAVE1?
BRAVE1 is a unified platform for cooperation between defense tech companies, the government and the military, as well as investors, volunteer foundations, media and everyone who helps bring victory closer through technology.
BRAVE1 was launched in April last year to stimulate the development of military innovations and defense technologies.

“Ukraine has to become a country that is rapidly developing, learning and actively using technology. Especially in the military sphere. The creation of BRAVE1 is one of the important steps in this direction. Our goal is to build a system with a quick launch of defense tech projects. To make bold decisions and create the best conditions for the development of companies that develop military technologies. After all, it is technology and courage that can do a lot for our victory,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation.
According to him, any person, startup or company will be able to present their idea or product to BRAVE1 and receive a grant from the state. Thus, businesses will get opportunities for development, and our military will receive victory technologies.
Today, 3,200 developments from 1,400 manufacturers are registered on the Brave1 platform. These include 800 UAVs, 280 ground robotic systems, 240 electronic warfare systems, 220 ammunition for drones, and 200 solutions using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. More than 230 developments were codified in accordance with NATO standards.
In November, the Ministry of Defense codified more than 120 weapons samples
Just the day before, the Ministry of Defense codified and authorized the use of the new Ukrainian attack UAV SOVA 10. Its payload is several kilograms. SOVA operates in different weather conditions.

In early December, the Ministry of Defense reported that in November alone, more than 120 samples of weapons and military equipment were codified, i.e., standardized and described as necessary for further supply to the Armed Forces. About 90% of them are new models.
These include mobile rocket launchers, an armor-piercing round, and a domestic armored ambulance. The vast majority of new models are UAVs, whose role in the war is increasing every year.
