Former head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine suspected of illicit enrichment

Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors, the Prosecutor General’s Office has served a notice of suspicion to the former head of one of the departments of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
He was charged with illicit enrichment and illegal handling of weapons and ammunition (Art. 368-5, Part 1, Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
“According to the investigation, the suspect and his associates acquired unjustified assets on his behalf. We are talking about land plots, apartments, houses and cars, the value of which exceeds their income by more than UAH 12.4 million,” the statement said.
In addition, it was established that the former chief kept weapons and ammunition without the permission provided by law.
It is noted that the issue of choosing a preventive measure against the suspect is currently being decided.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation with the operational support of the State Bureau of Investigation.
