Court extends arrest term for Motor Sich head Boguslaev

Former Motor Sich president Vyacheslav Boguslayev and his accomplice have had their arrest term extended. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

Boguslaev will be held in custody without the right to bail until 10 June 2024.

The suspects are accused of collaborative activities, aiding and abetting the Russian Federation, and assisting a terrorist organisation.

The former Motor Sich president is also charged with obstructing the activities of military formations during a special period.

What is Vyacheslav Boguslaev, the former head of Motor Sich, suspected of?

Boguslaev was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine in October 2022 together with the head of the company’s foreign economic activity department.

He is facing charges of assisting the aggressor country, collaboration, support for terrorist organisations and, according to recent reports, resistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The arrest of Boguslaev is related to suspicion of cooperation with Russia and illegal export of Ukrainian engines for Russian military helicopters through intermediaries in third countries.

It was found that he had been a Russian citizen since 2000 and owned real estate in Moscow.

In October 2023, the court case of former Motor Sich CEO Vyacheslav Boguslaev was brought to court, and his assets worth UAH 12 billion were seized.
