Electric cars again outsell gasoline cars in Ukraine: top market leaders

5 November 14:41

In October 2025, electric cars once again became the most popular among new passenger cars in Ukraine. Their share reached 31% of all sales. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukravtoprom.

Electric cars strengthen leadership

Compared to last year, the share of electric vehicles has almost doubled – from 16.6% in October 2024 to 31% this year.

Ukrainians are increasingly choosing electric vehicles due to lower operating costs, the development of charging infrastructure, and simplified imports of used models.

Among all electric cars, the leader is the Volkswagen ID.UNYX, a novelty that combines modern design, a range of more than 600 km and an affordable mid-range price.

Internal combustion engines are losing share

While a year ago, cars with traditional gasoline and diesel engines accounted for more than 62% of the market, their share has now dropped to 48%.

Gasoline cars fell from 36.1% to 29.6%.

Diesel – from 26.3% to 18.6%.

The share of cars with LPG has traditionally remained at less than 1%.

This trend reflects the market’s gradual transition to more environmentally friendly solutions and changes in consumer behavior – especially in large cities, where charging stations have already become part of the urban infrastructure.

Hybrids hold stable positions

The hybrid car segment remained virtually unchanged: 20.6% this year versus 20.7% last year.
Hybrids remain popular among those who want to save on fuel but are not yet ready to switch to electric propulsion.

The Toyota RAV4 remains the leader in this segment, maintaining stable demand due to its reliability and wide dealer network.
