Estonia will spend millions of euros to purchase Starlink for Ukraine

Tallinn intends to allocate €3.5 million for the purchase of Starlink satellite communications systems for Kyiv and their maintenance.

This is reported on the website of the Estonian Ministry of Defense, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Estonia has decided to allocate €3.5 million for the purchase of Starlink communication systems for Ukraine as part of an IT coalition led by Estonia and Luxembourg,” the statement said.

It is specified that the goal of the initiative is to improve Ukraine’s IT capabilities and support its efforts in the war against Russia. The funds will come from the aid package for Kyiv provided by Tallinn for the current year.

on October 27, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tähkna said that the country’s authorities support Ukraine’s full membership in NATO. In his opinion, no circumstances can prevent Kyiv from joining the North Atlantic Alliance.

According to the official, Estonia was the first country to officially declare the need to send foreign troops to Ukraine. Tallinn also considers it necessary for Ukraine to join NATO. Tsahkna explained that this should include security guarantees for Kyiv.
