First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov has announced his intention to create in Ukraine an analog of DOGE – an American initiative to assess the effectiveness of the government, which was once headed by Ilon Musk.

He wrote about this in Threads, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"

According to Fedorov, the Ukrainian DOGE should help in the implementation of several projects aimed at “urgent cost reduction and efficiency assessment.” The minister also noted that he is now looking for a person to head the new direction.

What is DOGE in the US

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is an initiative founded in 2024 with the support of then US presidential candidate Donald Trump. After his re-election, Trump put Ilon Musk in charge of it. DOGE was not an official government agency, but influenced cost-cutting policies and suggested that the government adopt a business approach to governance.

Despite its private status, DOGE employees had access to a number of government systems and advised the White House. Musk, in particular, planned to reform or even close USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development), which later came under the control of the State Department.

In May 2025, Musk announced that he was leaving DOGE and going back to business – Tesla and SpaceX.
