Galushchenko is about to be served with a notice of suspicion – media

Former Minister of Justice and former Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko, who was detained while attempting to cross the Ukrainian border, is expected to be served with a notice of suspicion as soon as he is brought to Kyiv, sources in law enforcement agencies told ZN.UA, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
The sources confirmed the detention of the former minister, whose name appears in a case involving large-scale corruption in the energy sector, at the border. The sources also noted that Halushchenko was detained as a suspect in a criminal case.
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, in turn, stated that detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau detained the former energy minister in connection with the Midas case while he was crossing the state border.
“Initial investigative actions are ongoing, carried out in accordance with the requirements of the law and court sanctions. Details to follow,” they said.
A little later, MP Oleksiy Goncharenko wrote that Herman Halushchenko had apparently already been served with a suspicion notice.
Journalists from the Schemes project, in turn, reported that Herman Halushchenko was actually detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which provides for the detention of a person by an authorized official without a ruling by an investigating judge.
This is confirmed by a report from ZN.UA that the former minister is being taken to Kyiv for all necessary investigative actions, including the delivery of the suspicion and the selection of a preventive measure.
In turn, former prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Stanislav Bronevitsky, who resigned from the SAPO in 2024, said that the text of the suspicion against Galushchenko is a modified text of the suspicion against Mindich and company.
“That is, Mindich and all other figures involved must be notified of the change in the previously reported suspicion and of the notification of the new suspicion (now the text will mention Galushchenko and his role in connection with the entire criminal organization). Galushchenko will simply receive a notification of suspicion,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
