NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte believes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s criticism of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is unjustified. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Reuters.
According to the agency, despite being a vital ally of Ukraine, Germany’s hesitation to provide long-range Taurus cruise missiles has become a source of frustration in Kyiv.
“I’ve often told Zelenskyy that he should stop criticizing Olaf Scholz because I think it’s unfair,” the NATO secretary general said.
Rutte also said that he, unlike Scholz, would supply Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles and would not impose restrictions on their use.
“In general, we know that such capabilities are very important for Ukraine,” Rutte said, adding that it is not up to him to decide what the allies should provide.
On December 16, the German parliament passed a motion of no confidence in the government of Olaf Scholz.
As a reminder, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called Putin on November 15, for the first time in almost 2 years. This conversation was criticized by various politicians, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry responded by saying that conversations with Putin only give him hope of easing his international isolation.
on November 17 , Russian troops massively attacked Ukraine with cruise, ballistic, and aircraft missiles, as well as attack drones. Explosions were heard in a number of cities, and the shelling resulted in the first casualties.
