General Staff reports on the situation in the “hot” areas of the frontline

Over the last day, 4 August, 128 combat engagements took place in the frontline. Ukrainian troops repelled 30 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Over the past day, 124 combat engagements were recorded.

According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy carried out 53 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements (including 74 combat aircraft), fired 4,890 rounds of fire, 97 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, in the areas of Kruglyakivka and Lozova in Kharkiv region; Hryhorivka, Kurdyumivka, Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, Trudove, Oleksandropil, Vozdvyzhenka, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Katerynivka, Bohoyavlenka, Vremivka in Donetsk region; and Lobkove and Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia.

Situation at the frontline

In theKharkiv sector, the enemy continued assault operations. There were 11 combat engagements in the vicinity of Hlyboke, Liptsy, Tykhove and Vovchansk.

In theKupyansk sector , the number of combat engagements increased to six over the day. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults near five different localities. The enemy focused its actions in the direction of Petropavlivka, conducting two attacks.

In theLiman sector , our troops repelled eight occupants’ attacks in the vicinity of Makiivka, Terny and Nevske.

In theSiverskyi sector, Ukrainian defence forces repelled eight attacks near Spirne, Verkhnekamianske, Pereizne and Vyimka. The enemy conducted five of the above attacks near the latter.

In theKramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 15 enemy attempts to break through our defences in the areas of Chasovyi Yar, where more than half of all the fighting took place, as well as Ivanivske, Stupochky, Bila Hora, Klishchiyivka and Andriivka.

The enemy made 18 attacks in theToretsk sector. He concentrated his efforts in the vicinity of the settlements of New York and Toretsk, conducting almost 80 per cent of all combat engagements there. In addition, he attacked near Zalizne and Pivnichne. It actively bombed the city of Toretsk and its surroundings, conducting 14 air strikes.

In thePokrovsk sector , our defenders repelled 30 attacks. The enemy concentrated its main efforts in the areas of Zhelanne and Novooleksandrivka, where almost half of the total number of engagements took place.

In theKurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Paraskoviivka and Karlivka. In total, the enemy tried to break through the defences of our troops 11 times.

In theVremivsk sector, the occupants made six attacks on our positions. Three of them took place near Vodiane.

In theOrikhivsk sector, three combat engagements took place near Mala Tokmachka. The enemy conducted two more attacks near Robotyne and in the direction of Novodanilivka.

In thePrydniprovsky sector, the Russians were defeated in two firefights.

In theVolyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected. The operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy maintains a military presence, firing from the territory of the Russian Federation, in particular, the settlements of Sopych, Bachivsk, Chuykivka and Progress.

Enemy losses

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defence Forces conducted 14 strikes on enemy troop concentrations, destroyed one artillery system and three control points of the Russian occupiers.

In total, the Russian invaders suffered 1180 casualties over the past day. Ukrainian troops also neutralised six tanks, 31 armoured combat vehicles, 69 artillery systems, 24 operational and tactical UAVs, 68 vehicles and three pieces of special equipment.
