Getmantsev declared the business compensation program for war risks a failure

Danylo Getmantsev, a member of parliament and chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Tax Committee, reported very poor results from the implementation of the state program providing partial compensation for business property losses and insurance premiums under war risk insurance policies, according to [Komersant], citing the politician’s Facebook post.
According to Getmantsev, he received this information from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
The program has been in operation for three months, but demand for it remains minimal.
Key figures:
- Since its launch, 13 applications to participate in the program have been submitted;
- only 3 businesses have been included in the program;
- the remaining applications are under review.
The situation is even worse regarding the component for compensation of insurance premiums under insurance contracts against war risks—only 4 applications have been submitted.
Getmantsev emphasized that Ukrainian businesses had previously been actively counting on the launch of such a program.
At the same time, in his opinion, the current results indicate that the program has effectively failed to take off.
“The conclusion is obvious—the program hasn’t taken off. It isn’t working, and we need to sound the alarm to change its design,” the lawmaker noted.
The politician also called on the government to review the program’s operational mechanism and redesign it to make the tool truly accessible to businesses.
As a reminder, during the recent Russian attack on the Kyiv region, the production facilities and warehouses of several Ukrainian clothing brands were destroyed.
