Georgian Legion reports sabotage at its base: a soldier is killed

on June 12, an act of sabotage took place at the base of the Georgian Legion, which is taking part in the fighting on the side of Ukraine. This is stated in a statement published on the official Facebook page of the legion, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to the report, an unidentified person carried an explosive device that detonated on the territory of the base. The explosion killed a Legion fighter, Demetre Darchia.

“Today (June 12), an act of sabotage took place at the Georgian Legion base, which resulted in the detonation of an explosive device brought by an unknown person. This incident led to the death of our soldier Demetre Darchia,” the statement said.

The Legion emphasizes that the sabotage has signs of a carefully planned action that symbolically coincided with Russia’s Day on June 12.

The incident is currently under investigation. No other details have been released yet.

“Every soldier of the Georgian Legion honors the memory of Demetre Darchia,” the statement said.
