Elon Musk became the first person in the world whose fortune reached $800 billion after SpaceX acquired xAI, a company specializing in artificial intelligence and social networks.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Forbes.
The publication calculated that the deal, which values the combined company at $1.25 trillion, increased Musk’s fortune by $84 billion to a record $852 billion.
Prior to the deal, Musk owned approximately 42% of SpaceX shares worth $336 billion. He also owned approximately 49% of xAI shares worth $122 billion. After the merger, Musk owns 43% of the combined company’s shares worth $542 billion.
This makes SpaceX Musk’s most valuable asset today. He also owns 12% of Tesla shares worth $178 billion and options on Tesla shares worth another $124 billion.
Interestingly, Musk is now a record $578 billion richer than the world’s second-richest person, Google co-founder Larry Page, whose fortune is estimated at $281 billion.
Growth of Musk’s assets
In December last year, Elon Musk became the first person in the world whose fortune is estimated at over $700 billion.
In addition, in November, Tesla shareholders separately approved Musk’s $1 trillion compensation plan, which is the largest corporate compensation package in history (referring to $1 trillion in shares). Investors supported his vision of transforming the electric car manufacturer into a giant in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics.
