The investment fund “Hunter” has invested at least $70 million in the capital’s residential real estate over ten years, according to an investigation by hromadske, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".

The man, who is likely to be part of the entourage of Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Boyko, has bought up more than 1,000 apartments in Kiev over the past ten years.

In 2023, Bihus.info journalists first paid attention to the investment fund Hunter, which is owned by Pavlo Yakubenko through the Cypriot firm Kotryna Holding. They found out that, firstly, the fund owns about 60 apartments in the LCD “French Boulevard 2” in Pechersk, LCD LaLaLand in Berkovetska and LCD Welcom Home in Revutskogo, and secondly, it owns stakes in companies that are participants in the construction of these complexes.

Gromadske claims that in fact the Hunter Foundation has purchased at least 1,100 apartments since 2015:

  • 456 in the LCD “French Boulevard 2”;
  • 71 in Camerton;
  • 298 in Welcome Home Residential Complex;
  • 157 in LaLaLand Residential Complex;
  • 5 in the Residential Complex “Dneprovskaya Naberezhnaya, 19A”;
  • 119 in the Residential Complex “House on Vavilovs”.

The total amount of investments, according to journalists’ calculations, could exceed $70 million.

How Yakubenko is connected to Boyko

Yakubenko and his son Vladimir used to be on the supervisory board of Truskavetskurort (a chain of sanatoriums in Lviv region). After Boyko’s appointment as Minister of Energy, Truskavetskurort started to systematically win state tenders for recuperation. From 2010 to 2013, the company sold more than UAH 200 million worth of vouchers to the state. In 2018, Yakubenko’s investment fund began buying up shares of Truskavetskurort and has now reached full control – 100%.

Volodymyr Yakubenko worked in Naftogaz of Ukraine under the leadership of Boyko.

Hunter Investment Fund is listed as the ultimate owner of the firm Stream Capital, which was created by Boyko’s son in 2018.

In 2023, the daughter of people’s Deputy Yuri Boyko, Yaroslava Boyko, bought a plot of land in Obukhov. Here on it is also an estate of almost 1200 squares. The neighbor of the woman is Volodymyr Yakubenko, who worked in Naftogaz under the leadership of Yuriy Boyko.

The woman bought the house on March 10, 2023 for more than 15 million hryvnias, or at the then exchange rate of 430 thousand dollars.

Journalists showed the house to experts and, according to their estimates, the real value of such a mansion can reach two million dollars.

The house was sold to Yaroslava Boyko by Natalia Tsivinskaya. The woman comes from Rubizhne. There she lived in the same apartment with the family Tarabanovski – Olga and Michael, was registered with them. Olga and Mikhail Tarabanovsky, according to hromadske, worked at the plant “Zarya”, where his labor biography began Yuri Boyko.

Who is Mikhail Tarabanovskiy?

Mikhail Tarabanovsky is the ex-deputy mayor of Rubizhne, who, according to media reports, participated in meetings with representatives of the occupation authorities in 2014.

As you can see from the pictures, Yaroslav Boyko’s house is located on the same territory with Volodymyr Yakubenko’s house. They are hidden on one side behind a water body, and on the other side behind a high fence. The entrance to the territory, where Yakubenko’s and Boyko’s houses are located, is common.

We shall remind you that Boyko was appointed head of Naftogaz Ukrainy in 2002, and the following year he appointed Volodymyr Yakubenko chairman of the board of directors of the subsidiary company Gaz Ukrainy. Subsequently, Yakubenko became the first deputy chairman of the board of Naftohaz Ukrayiny.

In addition, Volodymyr Yakubenko is the son of Pavlo Yakubenko, to whom the investment fund Hunter is registered. Journalists link this fund to Yuriy Boyko himself.
