Iran has announced the date for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz: what is known
5 March 11:32
Iran must maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz during the war and will therefore not open it until the conflict is over.
This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Kazim Garibabadi, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing local and Western media.
“We are currently at war. This situation requires the introduction of special measures to control the Strait of Hormuz. These measures are in effect. We will not allow the merchant ships and military vessels of our opponents to pass,” the diplomat emphasized.
Garibabadi noted that “the strait must remain closed” until the end of hostilities against the Islamic Republic.
What preceded
Earlier it was reported that due to hostilities and mutual attacks by Iran, the US, and Israel, shipping in the region had virtually stopped, with volumes falling by 75%. Tanker owners simply do not risk going out to sea.
Although the UAE and Saudi Arabia are trying to “pump” oil through pipelines, this is not enough. As a result, fuel prices have skyrocketed. India and Iran have already raised the prices of their oil.
