The Cabinet of Ministers is introducing a procedure and mechanism for identifying areas of risky farming, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to her, this will allow for more targeted state support for agricultural producers working in difficult conditions.
Svyrydenko named two key criteria for determining areas of risky farming:
- climatic conditions – a critical level of productive moisture in the soil, which must be confirmed by laboratory tests
- the consequences of hostilities – if land plots are located near the border with an aggressor state or the line of contact, or are contaminated with explosive objects
“To receive support, agricultural producers must be registered in the State Agricultural Register and submit an application for the relevant land plots via the electronic office by July 1. If the risk is determined to be due to a lack of moisture, a laboratory report must be attached,” Svyrydenko said.
She added that lists of such lands will be compiled by regional military administrations and finally approved by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture by August 31.
The prime minister clarified that the identification of areas affected by hostilities will be done automatically based on data from state registries without the need to provide additional information.
“After the lists of land are approved, agricultural producers working in areas of risky farming will be able to receive state support,” she added.
Svyrydenko stressed that this step will ensure systematic and transparent assistance to farmers who continue to work despite the climatic challenges and threats caused by the aggression.
