25 September 2025 22:27

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to significantly increase salaries for healthcare workers working in areas of active and potentially dangerous hostilities. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Svyrydenko emphasized that the government’s decision covers cities such as Nikopol, which is under constant shelling by Russian troops.

What payments will medics receive in combat zones

From now on, the following salaries are set for healthcare workers working in the hottest spots

  • doctors – 40 thousand UAH;
  • middle medical staff – 27 thousand UAH;
  • junior medical staff – UAH 18 thousand.

In the areas of possible hostilities, payments will be lower, but also higher:

  • doctors – UAH 28 thousand;
  • nurses – UAH 18 thousand;
  • junior medical staff – UAH 9 thousand.

“It is important for us to support doctors who save lives every day in extremely difficult conditions,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.

Budget 2026: minimum wage increase

As a reminder, the government has included an increase in the minimum wage in the draft state budget for 2026:

  • uAH 8,647 per month
  • and UAH 52 per hour.

Why this is important

Ukrainian doctors in the frontline areas work under constant threat of shelling and save lives of civilians and soldiers. The increase in payments should be not only financial support, but also a sign of state gratitude for their daily work in the war.
