Camouflage of the future: The Ukrainian Armed Forces will change their uniforms to cartoons

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will switch to a new type of military uniform, which should replace the current MM-14 camouflage, better known as “pixel”, with MM-25, which is a copy of Multicam.
This is stated on the website “Partner of the Ministry of Defense”, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that the Central Directorate for the Development of Material Support has approved a new camouflage pattern called MM-25 for further use. It is planned to be used in the manufacture of material property for the Ukrainian army.
The official design of the new uniform has not yet been made public. However, according to specialized sources, including Boroshno News and First Division, the new MM-25 visually and conceptually repeats the Multicam camouflage pattern used by NATO troops, which has proven itself in various types of terrain.
The timeline for the full transition to the new uniform is not yet specified. Given the size of the army, this process may take several years. It is also not yet known when the first batches of the new uniforms will be delivered to the Armed Forces units.
What is Multicam?
Multicam is a deformable camouflage pattern developed in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in cooperation with the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs). The pattern consists of irregular spots of seven colors, which provides effective camouflage in different types of terrain and under different lighting conditions.
By the way, MM-14 camouflage is a 5-color digital camouflage adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2014. It consists of a light beige background and spots of dark swamp green, gray green, dark gray and light green colors.
The Bundeswehr will undergo significant changes in the coming years: the current uniform will be replaced by a new camouflage pattern.
All soldiers will have to wear the so-called multicamouflage no later than 2029.
The German Ministry of Defense reported that it is currently working on equipping the military, based on the recently determined total number of 460 thousand people in the armed forces.
