Kellogg admitted: Ukraine sets the tone for drones, other countries lag behind

Ukraine has overtaken the United States in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and has become a “world leader.” This was stated by US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg at the annual YES 2025 conference, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing LIGA.net.

“We are far behind. Ukrainians are world leaders in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles,” he said.

Kellogg noted that every era has its own military innovations: battleships, aircraft carriers, fighters, tanks, and now drones. UAV technology, he said, has “changed dramatically.”

Kellogg noted that the equipment was not previously protected by armor on the roof, as there was no need for it – no one shot at the roof of military equipment. But drones have changed the situation.

“Drones have changed the situation, and we are now working with the Ukrainians to ensure a joint exchange of drone technology, which I think is very good. I think this technology has changed,” he said.

The Special Envoy compared the work of drone operators to a video game: shoot a tank, drink a Coca-Cola. However, according to him, this has dramatically changed military operations, and the whole world has a lot to learn from Ukraine.

“I think we in the United States are lagging behind. I think many countries are lagging behind. And we should pay tribute to the Ukrainians, they have achieved a lot here,” Kellogg emphasized.
