Kharkiv: after 12 days of fighting, rescuers eliminate fire caused by missile attack

In Kharkiv, a large-scale fire at a civilian enterprise that started as a result of massive Russian shelling on the night of June 7 has been completely extinguished. This was announced by Mayor Igor Terekhov on his Telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“The extinguishing work lasted 12 days. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service and municipal equipment were involved in the aftermath,” he said.
The combined attack on the enterprise in the Kyiv district of Kharkiv resulted in the significant destruction of four industrial buildings and a large-scale fire. Rescuers promptly launched a search and rescue operation and rescued two people from the rubble.
During further work, the structures collapsed, injuring one of the rescuers.
The fire was localized in the morning of June 8. on June 11, the search operations were completed: the bodies of six dead civilians were recovered from the rubble.
on June 7, Kharkiv suffered the “most powerful” air strike since the beginning of the full-scale war – about 48 kamikaze drones, 2 missiles and 4 guided bombs were dropped on the city.
The strike targeted mostly residential areas, civilian objects and an industrial enterprise in the Kyiv district.
Consequences
At least 5-6 people were killed: the first information was 3 deaths, later during the week rescuers found several more bodies under the rubble – the last sixth was found on June 12.
More than 60 people were injured, including children and an infant.
Destruction: destroyed residential buildings (18 multi-storey buildings, 13 private houses), industrial buildings, production facilities with fire and collapses.
Defense and Reaction
Ukrainian air defense shot down 87 drones, 7-94 missiles (reports vary).
President Zelenskiy characterized the morning of June 7 as “the day of the brutal morning strike.”
Rescuers completed their search under the rubble on June 12.
Conclusion
This is one of the largest strikes on Kharkiv since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, resulting in numerous casualties, destruction of housing, infrastructure and industrial facilities.
