Who will win the Eurovision Song Contest 2024: bookmakers update their predictions after the first semi-final

Yesterday, on 07 May, the Swedish city of Malmö hosted the first semi-final, where the first 15 participating countries, as well as the three founding countries of Eurovision, automatically qualify for the final of the song contest. Based on the results of these countries’ performances, bookmakers have updated their forecasts for the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.

Who won the first Eurovision semi-final

According to the results of the song contest viewers’ voting, the following countries are going to the grand final:

  • Croatia – Baby Lasagna;
  • Ukraine – alyona alyona & Jerry Heil;
  • Ireland – Bambie Thug;
  • Finland – Windows95man;
  • Lithuania – Silvester Belt;
  • Slovenia – Veronika;
  • Cyprus – Silia Kapsis;
  • Luxembourg – Tali;
  • Portugal – Iolanda;
  • Serbia – Teya Dora.

It will also feature the founding countries of the song contest (Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) and 10 other countries that will make it to the final based on the results of the second semi-final. Their list will be announced tomorrow.

Who will win the Eurovision Song Contest 2024?

The bookmakers’ favourite at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is the representative of Croatia, Baby Lasagna, with the song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”. His chances of taking first place are estimated at 36%.

With a fairly large margin, Switzerland takes the second position in the forecasts. The bookmakers give the singer Nemo with the song “The Code” 17% chances of winning. It’s worth noting that Nemo was previously the favourite, but after rehearsals, Baby Lasagna from Croatia took the lead.

According to the bookmakers, Italy, represented by singer Angelina Mango with the song “La noia”, may take the third place. Her chances of winning are 10%.

Representatives of Ukraine, singers alyona alyona and Jerry Heil with the song “Teresa & Maria”, are currently ranked fourth in the bookmakers’ table, and their probability of winning is estimated at 8%.

Ireland rounds out the top five. Bookmakers give 6% to the singer Bambie Thug, who is well remembered by viewers for his eccentric performance of the song “Doomsday Blue.”

However, it is important to remember that bookmakers’ forecasts are constantly changing, and it is not yet known for certain who will win the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. However, the name of the winner will be revealed this Saturday, 11 May, during the grand final of the song contest, which will start at 22:00.
