The end of the truce? Israel kills five Hamas fighters

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the elimination of five high-ranking officials of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip. According to the politician, the Israeli army (IDF) launched the attack in response to a ceasefire violation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing local media.
“Today, Hamas once again violated the ceasefire by sending a terrorist into Israeli-controlled territory to attack IDF soldiers. Israel responded by killing five high-ranking Hamas terrorists,” Netanyahu’s office quoted him as saying.
According to the IDF press service, an armed fighter of the Palestinian movement infiltrated the demarcation line along the route of humanitarian aid delivery, after which he opened fire on Israeli troops in southern Gaza. The perpetrator was killed, and no soldiers were injured. In response to the attack, the Israeli army “began to strike Hamas terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip.”
In his statement, Netanyahu assured that Israel “fully complies with the ceasefire” and accused Hamas of violations. According to the prime minister, during the entire time of the ceasefire, “dozens of Hamas terrorists crossed the line of Israeli positions to attack Israeli troops.”
“We once again call on the mediators to insist that Hamas fulfill its part of the ceasefire agreement and [US President Donald] Trump’s 20-point plan,” Netanyahu emphasized.
He also called on the Hamas leadership to immediately return the remains of the three hostages and ensure the full demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.
“The deal is over”
At this, the Palestinian movement accuses the Israeli side of violations and calls on the mediators – Egypt, Qatar, the United States and Turkey – to put pressure on Israel and force it to comply with the ceasefire. According to Hamas, the IDF is trying to “destroy the yellow line” dividing the control zones in Gaza and “advances westward every day”.
At the same time, Al Hadath TV channel, citing sources, claims that the movement has already notified the United States of its readiness to resume hostilities.
According to the channel, Hamas representatives told US Presidential Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner that “the deal is over and the movement is ready for battle.”
Palestinian radicals told the American side that “the ceasefire must be mutual.” Washington has not officially confirmed this information.
Fragile truce
The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip came into force on October 10, after the parties approved Trump’s plan to resolve the conflict. The agreement provided for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from central Gaza, behind the Yellow Line, and the Palestinian radicals pledged to hand over all hostages in return. Israel also agreed to release Palestinian prisoners.
