Former Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger has been appointed head of Gloo, a technology company focused on Christian organizations. The appointment was made as part of the startup’s preparation for an initial public offering (IPO), which could value the company at $873.4 million. This was reported by Reuters, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to a statement by Gloo Holdings, the company plans to raise up to $109.2 million by selling 9.1 million shares at a price of $10 to $12 per share. The placement of the securities on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker GLOO will be handled by the investment firm Roth Capital Partners.

Gelsinger will serve as chief technology officer and executive chairman of the board, where he will develop artificial intelligence tools, including virtual assistants and chatbots with “safe search” and answers based on biblical texts.

Founded in 2013 in Boulder, Colorado, Gloo specializes in creating technology solutions for churches and religious groups. Last year, the startup already raised $110 million for the development of its AI business, despite a loss of $69.8 million in the first half of the year.

Helsinger’s appointment follows his departure from Intel, where he had disagreements with the board of directors over the business recovery strategy.
