Curfew: who is most likely to be checked by the police after the rules were relaxed
27 January 13:11
The easing of curfew restrictions primarily applies to “responsible businesses.” The police are paying attention to people who are on the streets during the curfew.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement made by Maxim Akhrameev, head of the National Police’s Department of Preventive Activities, during a telethon, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to him, the changes to the curfew primarily concern “responsible businesses.” This refers to businesses that have agreed to operate around the clock, opening stores and establishments where people can recharge their gadgets, get tea, warm up, etc.
“That is, when citizens are moving around the streets of the city, we pay attention to them, ask them why they are on the street, and if they are going to a ‘point of invincibility,’ we explain to them and tell them where the nearest such point of invincibility is,” Akhrameev explained.
At the same time, he added, the police also pay attention to groups of people who “clearly have not gone to a ‘point of invincibility’ but are relaxing.” Akhrameev assured that the police pay much more attention to such people than to ordinary citizens who need to charge their devices or buy something.
We will remind you that on January 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a state of emergency in the energy sector. Now, given the state of emergency in the energy sector, the Ukrainian police are working in an enhanced mode. Patrols are monitoring order and guarding critical infrastructure facilities.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the curfew could only be relaxed in regions of Ukraine where a state of emergency had been declared in the energy sector.
We would like to add that in Kyiv, where the energy situation is critical, updated curfew rules have already been introduced.
