XAI introduces a new artificial intelligence model Grok 4 and a premium subscription for $300

on July 10, 2025, xAI, founded by Elon Musk, presented a new artificial intelligence model, Grok 4, as well as its extended version Grok 4 Heavy. At the same time, the company announced a new subscription rate for its AI service – $300 per month, which became the most expensive offer among the leading companies in the industry. This was reported by TechCrunch, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to Elon Musk, Grok 4 demonstrates results that surpass the PhD level in all academic disciplines, although, according to him, the model has not yet created new technologies or discoveries in physics, but it is “only a matter of time.”
Grok 4 Heavy is a multi-agent version of the model. It allows you to run several virtual agents simultaneously to work on a task, after which they compare their results, similar to a discussion in a study group, to find the best solution.
The company also introduced a new paid plan for $300 per month that provides
- early access to Grok 4 Heavy,
- the ability to test new features and products before their general release.
Thus, xAI’s subscription is ahead of similar offers from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.
In addition, xAI announced the launch of Grok 4 via API, which will allow developers to create their own applications based on the new model.
Grok 4 will compete with OpenAI’s GPT-5, which is expected to launch in the summer of 2025.
