The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has denied the information provided by the Russian General Staff in a report to Putin regarding the alleged complete capture of Kupyansk in Kharkiv region and Yampil in Donetsk region. This is stated in a statement by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The General Staff emphasized that Russian claims are not true: the city of Kupyansk remains under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Counter-sabotage measures are underway in the city and its outskirts. Ukrainian troops are conducting special operations to search for and destroy sabotage and reconnaissance groups that tried to infiltrate the town.
Yampil is not captured either
The situation is similar in Yampol, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian military continues search and strike operations to identify and eliminate enemy groups.
Fakes about Vovchansk and Pokrovsk
The General Staff also rejected the statements of the Russian command about the alleged capture of 80% of Vovchansk and 70% of Pokrovsk.
The department emphasized that Ukrainian troops are actively engaged in these areas:
“In Pokrovsk, search and assault operations inside the city, elimination of enemy forces and clearing of urban buildings are underway.
New logistics routes to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are being organized to ensure stable supply of units.
Occupants’ assault groups and their gathering places are regularly detected and destroyed.
The Ukrainian military command emphasizes that Russia is actively spreading false information about the situation at the front to create the illusion of success for the domestic audience.
