26 August 15:51
Korean corporation POSCO International is considering the possibility of implementing several large-scale projects in Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of Economy after a meeting with representatives of the company, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The main projects are
CHPP in Odessa on wastes
The company plans to build a combined heat and power plant in Odessa, which will run on RDF-fuel – energy produced from waste recycling. Consultations with the city authorities on environmental issues have already been held, and the project has been tentatively included in the list of priorities for the state.
“The project in Odessa is very important for our ministry because it combines an investment component and an environmental component. The initiative is aimed at environmental protection and introduction of modern technologies to reduce emissions. In the future, this practice can be extended to other regions of Ukraine. The Recovery Agency is submitting this project to the Unified Project Portfolio of the state, its expert evaluation and further approval by the Strategic Investment Council is expected”
