“The Land of Superheroes”: NBU starts selling a new coin – only for 1 day

The National Bank has started selling the commemorative coin “Country of Superheroes. We thank the railroaders!” commemorative coin with a face value of UAH 5. The sale will be held only on April 8, and each buyer will be able to buy only 1 coin. This was reported by the NBU, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The cost of one coin is UAH 98.
According to the regulator, the coin was minted in 2023. The material used to make the 5 hryvnia coin is nickel silver (a special alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc). The coin has a corrugated edge and a mintage of 50,000 pieces.
“The commemorative coin is dedicated to the employees of the Ukrainian railway transport, who are rightly called “iron” people. Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, the railway has become a “lifeline” for millions of Ukrainians forced to evacuate to safer regions, a steel route connecting Ukraine with European partner countries, and an important logistics artery for the transportation of strategically important goods for the population and the state,” the coin’s description reads.
The obverse of the coin features a stylized trident, the contours of which are outlined by the image of railroad tracks. On the left is the inscription “Ukraine”. In the center, against a mirror background, is the logo of the NBU Mint and the year of minting.
At the top of the coin is the small State Emblem of Ukraine. There is also the face value of the coin and the graphic sign of the hryvnia.
The reverse side depicts a train with the stylized logo of Ukrzaliznytsia breaking out of its surroundings. On both sides of the train is a symbolic composition with the points of a rifle pointed at the train. At the top is the inscription “Thank you to the railroaders!”.
