Kravchenko is changing his approach: Instead of bureaucracy, the Department of Investment Protection will engage in a real dialog with business

Newly appointed Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko has announced the reorganization of the Department of Criminal Policy and Investment Protection. He announced this in his telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to Kravchenko, this unit was supposed to play a leading role in protecting the rights of business and investors, but in practice it reduced its activities to formal meetings and unnecessary bureaucracy. Now, the department will focus on mediation – legal and effective communication between prosecutors and business representatives.
“This will be the responsibility of not only one department, but also my deputies, heads of structural units, and regional prosecutors’ offices. We are forming a system of real interaction to solve urgent issues,” Kravchenko emphasized.
What else is known about the new Prosecutor General:
- He was appointed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on June 21, 2025.
- He promised political impartiality and transparent decisions.
- In 2021, he headed the Bucha District Prosecutor’s Office.
- In 2023-2024, he headed the Kyiv Regional Audit Office, after which he was briefly appointed head of the State Tax Service.
Kravchenko also stated that he wanted to return the role of coordinator of the entire law enforcement system to the prosecutor’s office and restore trust in it. Reorganization of the department, which will work not only on paper but also in action, is one of the first steps in this direction.
