The Kremlin is hysterical over Trump’s ultimatum: “This is a step towards war”

Russia is once again using the language of threats – this time addressed not to Ukraine, but to the United States itself. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council and former President Dmitry Medvedev has publicly responded to US President Donald Trump’s statements, accusing him of “ultimatum game” and threatening war. Medvedev posted the relevant message on his page on the social network X, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
In it, he made a direct allusion to a possible escalation between Moscow and Washington if the US president continues to put pressure on the Kremlin.
He said that Donald Trump “should remember two things”:
“Russia is not Israel and not even Iran.” “Every new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don’t go down the road of Sleepy Joe!” Medvedev said in his post.

What triggered the Kremlin’s reaction
on July 28, Donald Trump made a sharp statement about the prolongation of the war in Ukraine. He announced his intention to significantly shorten the deadline for the ultimatum he had previously given to Russia to conclude a peace agreement on Ukraine. While previously it was 50 days, Trump said he was giving the Kremlin only 10-12 days.
He explained this decision by the lack of progress in attempts to force Russia to negotiate and harsh criticism of Vladimir Putin. In particular, the American leader said that he was “very disappointed” with the Kremlin’s actions, in particular, the continuation of attacks on Ukraine despite diplomatic efforts.
These words provoked an aggressive response from the Russian side. Medvedev, known for his radical and often bellicose statements, once again used nuclear rhetoric, hinting that Russia is ready for a conflict even with the United States.
