Krippa expands its GameDev portfolio: the businessman has acquired a stake in Burny Games

Ukrainian businessman Maksym Krippa has become a co-owner of the mobile game development company
Burny Games.
The entrepreneur’s press service announced this on March 30. Neither the businessman’s stake in the company nor the amount of the deal has been disclosed, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to the company, Krippa has been working with the studio since 2022 as an investor and strategic partner. His formal entry into the company’s capital is a continuation of this collaboration.
What this means for the studio
CEO Anatoly Genis stated that the new partnership should help the company accelerate its development and strengthen its position in the international mobile gaming market.
According to him, bringing in an investor will allow the studio to scale up production and expand its global presence.
Krippa’s strategy in the gaming industry
Krippa himself stated that he is consistently expanding his assets in the IT and video game sectors.
He noted that he is investing in various segments of the industry—from large studios to mobile gaming, which is currently one of the most dynamic sectors of the market.
Previously, the businessman has been associated with companies and brands such as:
- the NAVI esports team;
- the game development studio GSC Game World.
In his opinion, such partnerships could spark a new wave of Ukrainian game development companies capable of competing in the global market.
What is known about Burny Games
Burny Games is a young Ukrainian studio founded in 2022. It specializes in mobile puzzle games.
In just a few years, the company:
- grown to over 140 employees;
- created about ten game projects;
- received over 65 million downloads of its games.
Five of the studio’s games have become commercially successful.
One of the most notable products is the game Colorwood Words, which topped the Ukrainian App Store chart in 2025, surpassing the popular Roblox platform.
New Areas of Development
The company is also expanding its activities in the publishing sector.
In 2025, the studio launched a separate game publishing division and released its first project in collaboration with the Portuguese studio Infiniti Games.
Krippa’s Business Assets
In addition to game development, Maxim Krippa invests in real estate and other assets.
In particular, he previously became the owner of:
- the Parus business center;
- the Ukraine Hotel;
- a controlling stake in the International Exhibition Center.
The businessman has also entered into a partnership with the DIM Group development group.
