Euro exchange rate rises again: a new record on the Ukrainian currency market

For the first time in history, the euro exchange rate in Ukraine has surpassed 48 hryvnia. The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official euro exchange rate for Friday, June 13, 2025, at 48.08 UAH/€, which is 62 kopecks higher than the day before, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
At the same time, the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate has not changed dramatically. Officially, it stands at 41.49 UAH/USD, which means the hryvnia has strengthened by 2 kopecks compared to the previous day.
On the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine, as of 16:00 on June 12, quotes were flat:
- US dollar – 41.40/41.43 UAH/USD.
- Euro – 48.04/48.08 UAH/euro
The situation in the cash segment is somewhat more stable. The average cash dollar exchange rate in Ukrainian banks on June 12 remained at UAH 41.80 (buying – UAH 41.20).
The average cash euro exchange rate increased by 35 kopecks to UAH 48.05, while the purchase price was about UAH 47.33 per euro.
Reasons for the fluctuations
Analysts attribute the strengthening of the dollar to global market trends, while the rise of the euro in Ukraine may be the result of demand for the European currency among importers and instability in foreign financial markets.
