16 January 22:37

In Kyiv, in case of a prolonged power outage, a list of pharmacies has been compiled that will operate around the clock and have backup power supplies. The authorities assure that this will allow Kyiv residents and hospital patients to be provided with essential medicines even in the event of a complete power outage in the city.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Which pharmacies will operate without electricity

There are six pharmacies belonging to the municipal enterprise “Pharmacy” located directly on the premises of medical institutions. All of them are equipped with backup power sources and are ready to operate 24/7.

The pharmacies will operate on both the left and right banks of Kyiv, in hospital buildings, which will allow them to serve not only inpatients but also residents of neighboring areas.

What the authorities advise Kyiv residents

The Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Health advises residents of the capital to carry cash with them, as bank terminals may experience interruptions during prolonged power outages.

The decision to designate pharmacies on duty was made against the backdrop of the difficult situation in Ukraine’s energy system following massive Russian attacks. Earlier, the authorities also announced possible changes in the work of educational institutions and curfew rules in emergency situations.
