Kyiv buys 15 Austrian mini-CHP plants for UAH 1.1 billion

Kyivteploenergo has held an auction for the purchase of 15 cogeneration units for heat and electricity production. According to Prozorro, the winner of the auction was Slovakian company KTS Engineering s.r.o., "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
KTS Engineering s.r.o. will sell nine 4500 kW cogeneration units (Jenbacher JMS 624 GS-N.L.) and six 3333 kW units (Jenbacher JMS 620 GS-N.L.) to Kyivteploenergo.
The transaction value is UAH 1,125,375,983.31.

The goods are to be delivered no later than 31 December 2025.

In May, the Kyiv City Council approved the installation of the first six mini-cogeneration plants in different districts of Kyiv . These mini-CHP plants will be located on both the right and left banks of the city, in densely populated residential areas.
The concept of restoring Kyiv’s power system is designed to last for 12-15 years and will cost up to €1.2 billion. However, the first stage is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, ensuring uninterrupted heat supply to approximately 300,000 Kyiv residents.
