Kyivmiskbud, the capital’s largest developer, which is majority owned by the Kyiv City Council, has announced a change in management amid protracted financial turbulence and attempts to stabilize the company, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to the website of the Kyivmiskbud Holding Company, acting chairman of the board Svitlana Samsonova has resigned.

What is known about the dismissal of Svitlana Samsonova

The company explains this by “life circumstances” without providing additional details.

Samsonova took over the board in June and worked during what the company itself calls a crisis period.

During this time, Kyivmiskbud said, it optimized internal processes, carried out additional capitalization, established communication with investors and expanded cooperation with partners. The Supervisory Board, according to the company, promptly reformatted the management board to “strengthen the management team” and ensure the implementation of the approved development strategy.

Who was appointed as the interim chairman of the board

Dmytro Nikiforov has been appointed interim chairman of the board. Kyivmiskbud emphasizes that the company continues to implement its anti-crisis plan, which provides for the gradual resumption of construction at its facilities and should create a basis for strengthening the developer’s position in the market.

What is known about Dmitry Nikiforov

According to Forbes.ua, Dmitry Nikiforov is a Kyiv-based entrepreneur with experience in the stock and financial markets.

He is the head of Unitrade Market, the founder of Omega Invest, the Omega pharmacy chain, and the VODA UA drinking water brand, as well as the co-founder of HitBit Pro, a crypto wallet with a payment card.

The management changes come amid challenging financial performance. According to YouControl, in 2024, Kyivmiskbud’s revenue decreased by 2.3 times to UAH 904.8 million compared to the previous year. At the same time, the company made a profit of UAH 34.2 million against UAH 111.6 million in losses in 2023. In the first quarter of 2025, the developer again recorded a loss of UAH 7 million on revenue of UAH 86.5 million.

The city’s involvement was another factor in the stabilization. In October last year, the Kyiv City Council capitalized Kyivmiskbud by UAH 2.56 billion, given that it owns 80% of the company’s shares.
