China has sharply reduced exports of Mavic drones and their components to Ukraine and Western countries, while increasing supplies to Russia. This was reported by Bloomberg, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Speaking to journalists, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Chinese drones are “open to Russians but closed to Ukrainians.” According to him, China has not only stopped selling Mavic drones to Ukraine and European partners, but also continues to supply them to Russia, where there are even production lines with the participation of Chinese representatives.

The Mavic drone is a popular quadcopter designed for aerial photography, which is being actively adapted for military purposes, including reconnaissance and explosive attacks. These UAVs have become a key element of the fighting in Ukraine, significantly affecting the tactics of both sides on the frontline.

An anonymous European official confirmed Zelensky’s claims, adding that China has also likely restricted exports of certain components – such as magnets for engines – to Western countries, while supplies to Russia have increased.

As a reminder, President Zelenskyy recently stated that he had evidence of Chinese citizens’ involvement in the production of attack drones in Russia. These UAVs are subsequently used by the Russian army to shell Ukrainian cities.
