China is shocked and condemns the United States’ use of force against Venezuela

China is shocked and strongly condemns the United States’ blatant use of force against Venezuela and its president and calls on the US side to stop encroaching on the sovereignty and security of other countries.
This is stated in a special statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson regarding the US operation in Caracas, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“China is deeply shocked and strongly condemns the United States’ blatant use of force against a sovereign state and its actions against its president,” the statement said.
According to Beijing, such actions by the US side violate international law, encroach on Venezuela’s sovereignty and threaten peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean.
“We call on the United States to abide by international law and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and to stop encroaching on the sovereignty and security of other countries,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry added.
Today, the United States launched a series of strikes on the Venezuelan capital of Caracas. The buildings of the Venezuelan parliament and the house of the country’s Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez were hit.
In addition, there were reports of attacks on a military complex, a naval base, an airfield, and more. In total, at least ten facilities in the capital could have been hit.
Soon after, US President Donald Trump confirmed the large-scale operation against Venezuela on his social media, declaring it successful. In his post, he said that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife had been detained and taken out of the country.
