Maguchikh wins gold and sets world record for the season

Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh continues to dominate the international scene. The athlete won her second consecutive gold medal since the beginning of the season and set the best result in the world, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

At the indoor stage of the Continental Tour, which took place in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, Maguchikh showed a fantastic result of 2.01 meters. This not only brought her first place, but also became the best result of this season in the world.

The Ukrainian’s rivals in Banská Bystrica were titled athletes, including the Australian 2022 World Champion and 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Eleanor Patterson. Angelina Topic, a two-time medalist at the European Championships and a Diamond League finalist, Britt Weerman, a silver medalist at Euro 2023 Indoor, and Lilianna Bathory, a European U18 champion, also competed.

Thus, the Ukrainian confirmed her high level of training and once again demonstrated that she remains one of the main favorites in the high jump.

Second gold medal in a row

This victory was the second for Maguchikh in the season that has just begun.

Jaroslawa started the 2025 international season at a tournament in Udine, Italy, where she won gold with a mark of 1.94 meters. Maguchikh’s second start was at the Continental Tour in Slovakia.

Thus, Jaroslawa Maguchikh won her fourth gold medal in her career at the tournament in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.
