French President Emmanuel Macron spoke on the phone with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Emmanuel Macron wrote about this on his page on the social network X, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“We remain determined to support Ukraine, working in a spirit of unity and building on the work done within the coalition of the willing,” Macron wrote.
He emphasized that the future of Ukrainian citizens cannot be decided without them. European countries will also take part in the settlement, as it is also about their security. The French politician promised to “closely coordinate” his actions with Zelenskyy and EU partners.
Prior to that, the Ukrainian president said he had held phone conversations with Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. Zelensky thanked both politicians for their support and discussed the diplomatic situation and contacts with partners. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is ready to work “as productively as possible” for “real peace.” It and its partners need a real end to hostilities and reliable security guarantees.
