On Monday, July 22, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security voted to expel MP Mariana Bezuhla from its membership. This was reported by the MP herself on her Facebook page, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence has just voted to prepare a resolution to remove me from the position of deputy and expel me from the Committee,” Bezuhla wrote.
This decision was proposed by Fedir Venislavsky, commented Iryna Friz. It was prepared by Oleksandr Zavitnevych, Chairman of the Committee.
It is known that the decision was made by a majority vote: 14 out of 16 MPs voted in favor. Mariana Bezuhla abstained from voting.
“Only the hall can vote on this, not the Committee, but they keep trying. Mutual responsibility,” the MP said in her post.
The fact that the relevant committee of the Rada will vote to exclude Mariana Bezuhla from its membership was confirmed by other MPs. MP Iryna Gerashchenko wrote about this in her Telegram channel.
“I hope that during this plenary week the Verkhovna Rada will remove Bezuhla from the post of deputy chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence. Our Iryna Friz noted that a person who is included in the Myrotvorets database cannot continue his destructive activities in the relevant positions,” Gerashchenko said.
Why Mariana Bezuhla was included in the Myrotvorets database
Earlier, Bezuhla was removed from her position as head of the subcommittee on democratic civilian control and included in the “Myrotvorets” list. And MP Fedir Venislavskyi said that he had filed a complaint with the SBU against Bezuhla for disclosing “information from a closed meeting of the committee,” which he himself reported to the media.
The former “servant of the people” was included in the Myrotvorets database because (according to the information posted on the website) she carried out deliberate public actions aimed at discrediting the state authorities and governance of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, splitting civil society in Ukraine and deliberately disseminating information containing state secrets.
