Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, Tesla, and the owner of the X social network (formerly Twitter), is once again in the public eye – this time not because of his innovations, but because of his personal life and loud statements. According to People, Vanity Fair, and Business Insider, the billionaire openly expresses his intention to have even more children, claiming that humanity is facing extinction and he personally has to create a “legion” of descendants“before the Apocalypse,” "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Musk has repeatedly stated that the main threat to civilization is not overpopulation, but rather demographic collapse. He is convinced that if birth rates remain low, humanity will be on the verge of extinction. Therefore, he believes that those who can afford to raise a large number of children should do so.
“I’m trying to solve a problem that no one wants to talk about. The more people, the more genius. And also, more chances to colonize Mars,” he wrote on the social network X.
In this context, Musk sees his fatherhood as a contribution to the survival of humanity, and the birth of children as a form of “biological investment” in the future.
Known cases: money, deals, silence
According to recent reports, Elon Musk already has at least 14 children with four different women, including his former partner, singer Grimes, an employee of Neuralink, and 26-year-old influencer Ashley St. Clair. It is she who is the subject of one of the most high-profile stories of recent months.
According to an investigation by Vanity Fair, Musk offered St. Clair $15 million and monthly payments of $100 thousand in exchange for silence about their child. She refused, and after public disclosure, the amount was reduced to $20 thousand per month.
“This is not a deal. This is an attempt to buy silence and control,” St. Clair said.
Another well-known story concerns crypto influencer Tiffany Fong, who was offered by Musk to become the mother of his child without ever meeting her in person. She refused, after which, according to her, Musk cut off all ties with her, which affected her popularity and earnings online.
Mass parenthood as a project: surrogate mothers and the “army of the future”
Musk does not hide the fact that in order to achieve the goal of creating a “legion of children,” he is ready to actively use surrogacy. In some cases, women are not involved in raising children, who remain under the care of Musk’s team or in specially hired families.
According to sources close to the businessman, there is an informal recruitment program for “genetically promising” women in his environment, with whom private agreements are concluded. Musk seems to be guided by the logic of building a new generation with “high intelligence and physical endurance” suitable for future interplanetary missions.
Public reaction: cult or manipulation?
Musk’s ideas provoke a mixed reaction. Some call him a visionary who is not afraid to take responsibility where the majority is silent.
Others call him a cult of personality, in which he uses power, money, and influence to impose his will on other people, especially young women.
Critics point out that such actions border on ethical abuse, especially when it comes to economic dependence or the use of confidential gag orders.
