7 December 08:15

On the night of Sunday, December 7, Russian troops once again attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The combined strike resulted in interruptions in electricity, heat and water supply in Kremenchuk, Poltava region.

“Another massive combined attack on the infrastructure of Kremenchuk. Currently, there are interruptions in electricity, water and heat supply in some areas of the city,” Mayor Vladyslav Maletsky wrote on Telegram around 02:00 local time, urging residents to stay in safe places and not to post photos and videos.

He did not provide any information about the victims, promising that “official and confirmed information about the consequences will be released by the regional military administration after the situation is assessed.”

Ukrainian Armed Forces warned of missile threat over Ukraine

A missile threat was announced throughout Ukraine due to the flights of Russian MiG-31K fighter jets, which are carriers of the Kinzhal missile. Half an hour before Maletsky’s article was published, the Ukrainian Air Force spotted high-speed targets on Kremenchuk. In addition, the city was subjected to a massive attack by attack drones, the military said. It was also reported that explosions were heard in the city.

The previous time Russian troops attacked Kremenchuk was on November 8. Then, as a result of a combined strike, the entire city was left without electricity. Later, the head of the Poltava regional administration, Volodymyr Kohut, said that the attack was aimed at energy infrastructure facilities. According to him, one person was injured in the attack.
