Those sensitive to weather changes should prepare: meteorologists are warning of powerful magnetic storms on April 18 and 19, 2026
13 April 17:32
The second half of this week may prove to be quite challenging for those sensitive to weather changes. Experts from the Space Weather Forecasting Center report that this week will be dominated by a mostly calm geomagnetic environment. However, on some days, geomagnetic fluctuations may escalate into fairly powerful magnetic storms, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Magnetic Storm Forecast for the Week of April 13–19, 2026
Most of this week will pass with mostly negligible effects on Earth.
Days with weak or moderate activity
- April 13 (Monday) – 3 points: weak fluctuations, almost imperceptible to most people.
- April 14–17 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) – 2 points: low level of magnetic activity, which will have almost no effect on Earth.
When to expect strong magnetic storms: days with high geomagnetic activity
Scientists are warning of the risk of strong magnetic storms at the end of this week.
- April 18 (Saturday) – 6 points: a powerful magnetic storm, which is more often felt by weather-sensitive individuals and people with cardiovascular issues.
- April 19 (Sunday) – 5 points: a high-intensity level that may persist after Saturday.
On these dates, a noticeable impact on well-being and the operation of equipment may be felt. This period may be the most dangerous for weather-sensitive people.
Who should be especially careful during magnetic storms
Most often, discomfort during days of geomagnetic fluctuations is described as the following symptoms: headaches, fatigue, weakness, irritability, fluctuations in blood pressure, and sleep problems. The groups most susceptible to the effects of magnetic storms include:
- people with hypertension or cardiovascular diseases;
- those with chronic neurological conditions or heightened anxiety;
- people sensitive to weather changes, who react to changes in the weather or magnetic storms with a decline in well-being.
How to reduce the impact of magnetic storms: a selection of effective tips
To reduce the impact of magnetic storms during periods of increased solar activity, pay closer attention to how you feel and follow these simple rules:
- Reduce your workload. Don’t schedule too many tasks for these days if you’re sensitive to geomagnetic fluctuations.
- Drink plenty of water. Maintaining proper hydration helps your body adapt more easily to changes.
- Watch your diet. Eat less salty, spicy, and fatty foods, and be careful with alcohol, energy drinks, and coffee.
- Stick to a sleep schedule. Doctors recommend going to bed on time, giving your body at least 7–8 hours to rest and recover.
- Reduce gadget use before bed. To reduce the strain on your nervous system, put away your gadgets at least 20–30 minutes before bed.
Additionally, people with chronic illnesses should keep all necessary medications on hand and not ignore any worsening of their health.
Thus, the week of April 13–19, 2026, should be relatively calm; however, a sharp increase in geomagnetic activity is forecast for the weekend. It is during these days that weather-sensitive people should be as attentive as possible to their well-being and sleep schedule.
