Due to heavy shelling of the capital overnight, metro trains on the green line are running with changes. The funicular has been temporarily suspended due to a lack of electricity.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Kyiv City State Administration and Kyivpastrans.

Trains on the green metro line are currently running between the Syrets and Vydubychi stations and between the Osokorky and Chervonyi Khutir stations.

During an inspection of the open section of the green line, damage to the fence was discovered as a result of nighttime shelling.

The Kyiv City State Administration promises to provide additional information about the restoration of the green line.

Trains on the red and blue lines are running as usual.

Kyivpastrans also reports that the funicular has been temporarily suspended due to a lack of power supply.

Consequences of the attack on Kyiv on the night of January 24

As a reminder, Kyiv was under a combined attack by the Russians last night.

At around 1 a.m. on January 24, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of drone strikes, after which explosions were heard almost immediately in the city. Subsequently, Russian troops launched ballistic missiles in the direction of the capital.

Later, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on the consequences of the attack:

  • in the Desnianskyi district, debris fell on a non-residential building;
  • in the Dniprovskyi district, debris from a drone caused a fire in a garage cooperative, and a fuel tanker caught fire in a parking lot. In addition, debris broke windows in an apartment building;
  • In the Darnytskyi district, debris from a drone fell near a private medical facility, damaging windows in the building.
  • In the Holosiivskyi district, debris falling on the territory of a non-residential building caused a fire, and at another address, windows were broken in a private house.
  • In the Solomyanskyi district, debris damaged a six-story office building.

On the left bank of Kyiv, there were interruptions in heat and water supply as a result of a large-scale attack by the Russian Federation.
