US Department of Defense suspends scientific cooperation with Harvard

The US Department of Defense is ending its scientific and educational cooperation with the elite Harvard University. This was announced by Pentagon chief Pete Gagset in a microblog post, informs "Komersant Ukrainian"

He justified this decision by saying that “Harvard shares wokism, and the War Department (an alternative name for the US Department of Defense, introduced by the Donald Trump administration. – Ed. ) does not.”

Trump administration pressure on Harvard and other universities

As AFP reports, Harvard and other elite US universities have been under intense pressure since last year from the administration of President Donald Trump, which accuses them of excessive sympathy for leftist ideology.

“For too long, this department (the US Department of Defense. – Ed. ) has sent its best and brightest officers to Harvard in the hope that this university would better understand our military. Instead, many officers returned with their heads filled with globalist and radical ideology that did not benefit the military,” Hagseth said.

It is noted that the Pentagon’s cooperation with Harvard will be terminated by the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year, so military personnel currently undergoing training will still be able to complete the course.
