Ukraine’s Defense Ministry seeks options to counter Russian guided bombs

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has invited developers, innovators and experts in the fields of electronic warfare, air defense, anti-drone systems and fiber optic technologies to participate in the “Machine Offensive 2.0” hackathon, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Machine Offensive 2.0 will focus on two challenges.
Countering guided aerial bombs
The enemy is actively using guided aerial bombs for destructive long-range strikes. Due to their secure navigation and complex flight paths, they are difficult to intercept by traditional air defense systems. The Ministry of Defense is looking for solutions to neutralize or reduce the effectiveness of these bombs.
Countering fiber-optic drones
The enemy is using drones controlled by fiber-optic communication. This makes it impossible to jam them. The Ministry of Defense is looking for a solution to effectively neutralize these drones.
You can register for the Machine Attack 2.0 Hackathon here.
The deadline for filling out the form: november 8. After registration, the Hackathon organizers will inform participants about the technical details of the challenges.
We remind you that the first Hackathon was designed to improve unmanned platforms at the front. The Ministry of Defense held it in January and February this year.
The Ministry of Defense received more than 2,000 applications and selected 450 developers, engineers and innovators to participate, who formed teams and presented 122 ideas. The jury members then reviewed all the presentations and identified 12 winning ideas in different areas. Among them:
- creation of algorithms for precise recognition and capture of targets for further destruction,
- development of advanced navigation systems,
- creation of sustainable and secure communication systems,
- development of solutions for high-speed transmission (in real time) of intelligence data,
- development of algorithms for coordinating unmanned systems,
- creation of network solutions for integration between different types of unmanned systems.
