In Ukraine, there has been an increase in incidents of remote mining of areas using homemade explosive devices of the “Pryanik” type.
This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, which released photographs of such munitions, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to the ministry, they are being scattered remotely in large quantities, which significantly increases the risk to the civilian population.
Why are these devices dangerous?
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine explains that these munitions:
- are inconspicuous;
- can be camouflaged as rocks;
- blend in with the ground, grass, or asphalt;
- are deployed remotely.
Because of this, people may not notice the dangerous object and accidentally step on it.
What to do if you find a suspicious object
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine emphasizes the following basic safety rules:
- Immediately move to a safe distance.
- Do not touch or attempt to move the object.
- Notify emergency responders or the police by calling 101 or 112.
The ministry stresses: attempting to defuse explosive objects on your own is strictly prohibited.
The issue of mine danger remains one of the key challenges for Ukraine during the war.
In particular, bomb disposal experts from the National Police of Ukraine and pyrotechnicians from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine regularly find unexploded ordnance following Russian attacks.
For example, following the shelling of Kyiv on June 17, 2025, round, silver-colored unexploded ordnance with a diameter of approximately 10 centimeters was discovered.
Experts emphasize that due to the use of various types of explosive devices, the risk to civilians in frontline and even rear regions remains high.
