A man was found shot dead in Dnipropetrovs’k region. What is known?

In the Kamianske district of the Dnipro region, the body of a man with a gunshot wound in the head was found on the side of the road.

Suspilne, citing sources, reported that the body belonged to Oleksandr Plakhotnik, a member of the Batkivshchyna party.

The regional organization of the Batkivshchyna party believes that this is a contract killing, according to Hromadske.
“We are all shocked, we are preparing information on this matter,” said Volodymyr Fedorov, head of the information and analytical department of the party’s regional organization.
According to Hromadske, the body was found by a passing driver. The information was received by law enforcement officers in the morning, around 8:20.
The leadership of the Main Department of the National Police in the region and other law enforcement agencies are working at the scene. The investigative team and the forensic laboratory are collecting material evidence to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
Law enforcement officers opened a criminal proceeding under paragraph 11 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – premeditated murder.
According to the Chesno civil society organization, Oleksandr Plakhotnik is a member of the All-Ukrainian Union “Batkivshchyna” political party and lives in the city of Kamianske. He ran for the 8th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada from Batkivshchyna, but was not elected.
