A cloud of dirty air is blowing into Ukraine: Kyiv residents are advised to close their windows

On the evening of Thursday, November 7, air pollution is observed in Kyiv. The level of pollution is average. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
on November 7, it became known that a cloud of polluted air was approaching Ukraine. Air quality in some cities has already begun to decline on Thursday afternoon.
“There is an increase in the concentration of suspended particles (dust). The probable cause of the temporary deterioration in air quality is the cross-border impact, the transfer of dust from Europe,” the city administration said.
In connection with the temporary deterioration in air quality, Kyiv residents were advised
- do not go outside
- close the windows of the house;
- cover the windows with damp sheets;
- drink plenty of water;
- if you have an air purifier, turn it on to the maximum setting.
As of 23:00 on November 7, the cloud will already affect Lviv and the northern regions of Ukraine, where the air quality index will reach 44, which is unhealthy for sensitive groups. The wind from the west is contributing to the spread of polluted air.
It is predicted that on November 8, as of 5 a.m., the cloud will spread to half of Ukraine, where the maximum indicator will be 50 – unhealthy. At 8 a.m. in Lviv, the indicator will reach 52, which is unhealthy. However, the intensity of pollution will gradually decrease and the cloud will dissipate.
