You can already find jobs with a preference for veterans on Work.ua

From now on, employers can mark “Veterans Preference” in their vacancies on the job search platform Work.ua. This was announced by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
As noted, the “Preference for Veterans” mark is displayed in published vacancies.
“This is not only about gratitude and respect, but also about the opportunity for veterans to have equal access to employment and professional growth,” the ministry emphasized.
They explained that “as a result, companies get motivated and responsible professionals ready for challenges and work in crisis conditions, and veterans will be able to find jobs faster thanks to the filter of vacancies prioritized for them.”
The website already has more than 2,200 such offers, and their number is growing!
“We encourage businesses to create or edit job postings by adding the ‘Preferred Veterans’ option. This is an important contribution to the development of society and the integration of those who defended our independence into civilian life,” the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine emphasized.
They also thanked Work.ua for this step as part of the “Towards” project, which aims to create a culture of employment for veterans.
This initiative was implemented within the framework of the Memorandum between Work.ua and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
Employers are ready to support veterans
Veterans are ready to be given preference in hiring by 98% of employers, and 76% support the idea of indicating this in vacancies. This is according to a study by Work.ua, which was conducted among Ukrainian employers and covered 529 companies of various industries and sizes.
As it turned out, 46% of the surveyed companies already have veterans in their teams. The largest percentage of companies employing veterans are medium and large businesses in such industries as construction, transportation, and healthcare.
58% of companies said they are ready to give veterans preference when hiring for all vacancies if the candidate has equal professional qualities to other applicants. Another 40% of employers are ready to do so for selected positions.
